 public events throughout Denver for the month of March 2008. We are joining multiple

 gallery, museum and conference venues surrounding fine art photography creating

 an exciting artistic and educational event for the city of Denver and the region.

Aspen Institute and National Geographic Magazine

Forum Will Focus on Solutions for a Sustainable Future


The public is invited to attend the forum, a gathering of more

 than 300 thought leaders that will take place from March 26 - 30,

 at the Aspen Meadows Resort and Conference Center.


The forum will feature multimedia presentations by National Geographic

 photographers and writers who have documented environmental issues,

 as well as previews of upcoming environment specials from the Natioinal

Geographic Channel.

The photographers include:

Ý    James Balog, who is recording the retreat of glaciers worldwide

Ý    Michael Nichols, whose groundbreaking wildlife photography

    has spurred the establishment of national parks in Africa

Ý    Paul Nicklen, who has captures the beauty of the warming Arctic

Yan Lei: Sparkling – Aspen


The paintings of Beijing-based artist Yan Lei always begin

 with photographs, digitally reduced to a narrow color range

 to reveal their own artificiality. Yan Lei reconstructs and

 analyses images based on his everyday experiences,

 generally reflecting upon the relationship of the artist

 to an increasingly globalized art world.
